~SAM Broadcaster v3.x.x upgrade using MS SQL

  • Question:
I purchased SAM Broadcaster v3.x.x and downloaded the sambc-up.exe (only one available) tried to install it over the demo but got error "cannot connect to database (MSSQL)".
  • Answer:
First make sure that your MS SQL server is running, you should see the MS SQL server in your system tray with a green arrow which indicates MS SQL is running.
If the DB is running, you will need to change your SAM Broadcaster install options for MS SQL settings. Next, you will need to change the random password that is being generated to match your current configuration. Here's how:
To find your password open C:\Program Files\SpacialAudio\SAM2\SAMBC.core.xml in Internet Explorer
You want to find the following information:
<Username>your username</Username>
<Password>your password</Password>
Keep this window open while you are installing SAM Broadcaster v3 to obtain login information during installation.
Run SAM Broadcaster upgrade using defaults unless you have specified otherwise until you reach the Database portion
Select MS SQL and click next
Select "Specify Custom Setting"
Set Access Mode to local server
Database Name: SAMDB
Database login details select "sql server authentication"
username: your username (paste your password from the xml page opened above)
password: yourpassword (paste your password from the xml page opened above)
click next
Enter registration key and click next
Click Finish
You should now be upgraded.

~samPHPweb MySQL login errors

  • Question:
I believe I have my config.php setup correctly but when I goto to my samPHPweb from my web host I get the following error:
Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Access denied for user: 'root@yourhost.com' (Using password: NO)
  • Answer:
Make sure that you are entering the IP of your SAM2 system in your config.php. If you are not sure of your public IP address goto http://www.ipchicken.com and copy that IP address into your config.php for the dblogin host and the SAM Host. If you do have the correct IP already in there then your system has had the root from anyhost account removed, see below for instructions to add access for root account from your webhost.
You will need to give your web host access to your MYSQL srver.
Note: type everything in between " ", and <enter> means press the enter key.
From your SAM2 system
Goto Start / Run and Run
Type "command" <enter>.
Type "C:" <enter>
Type "cd \mysql\bin" <enter>
Type "mysql" <enter> You should now see mysql> at the prompt.
From the msyql> prompt type "GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON SAMDB.* TO 'root@host65.hrwebservices.net' IDENTIFIED BY '' WITH GRANT OPTION;" <enter>
Your website should now work

~Statistic relay not working for Windows Media Stream.

  • As you have an Audiorealm.com stream host account we do support MPM (MediaPoint Manager) running on all of our stream hosting servers. Under statistic relays you are setting up a "MediaPoint Manager (Windows Media) statistic relay"?
  • Here's how to setup your windows media statistic relay: Statistic Relay Setup
  • The final step is to create a Statistics relay for the streaming server.
  • A statistic relay simply grabs the current status and viewer count from each server, reporting the details to your statistic relay plug-in. Without a statistic relay your plugin will not accurately report the count of listeners connected to your stream.
  • Additionally, without valid statistic relays your station will not show up on AudioRealm.com. This means you will not get any extra exposure and you will miss extra listeners coming from the AudioRealm portal and partner sites. For more information on listing your station at AudioRealm.com click here.
  • · Open your Statistic Relay window
  • · In the Statistic Relays window click on the ‘+’ button· Select MediaPoint Manager (Windows Media) Statistic Relay, click OK
  • · Enter MediaPoint Manager server details (found on your Audiorealm.com stream hosting panel).
  • Enter MPM Host
  • Enter MPM Port
  • Enter Username
  • Enter password
  • Select Alias from drop down box
  • Enter bitrate of stream
  • Set desired color of line for charting.
  • Click OK
  • Statistic Relay should now say ‘Active (OK)’
  • Congratulations - after reaching this point you are officially part of the Internet broadcasting community!

  • Question:
I installed SAM Broadcaster v3 and my samPHPweb is now returning this error:
status=err
SQL error=1054
SQL error string=Unknown column 'message' in 'field list'
SQL=UPDATE requestlist SET message

  • Answer:
Please read:

See the bottom of the article regarding the database changes.

~SQL - Access denied for use ROOT@localhost using password "no"

~SQL 1016

SQL Error=1016
SQL error string=can't open file:'song history 19.MYI'{errno: 145}
SQL=”INSERT DELAYED INTO song History 19{title,Album,Duration,Songtype,trackno,stationId,t_stamp,viewers}VALUES{Limit-T21',Vamo A Toa\{Merengue Version}',POTl 2007-1',227',S',O'Promo Only',2006','80659',NOW{}”

~SQL 1034

Touch Error Touch err:status=err SQL err=1034 SQL error string=Incorrect key file for table 'songhistory22'; try to repair it
SQL=INSERT DELAYED INTO songhistory22 (artist, title, album)
FIX:
  • If this is MySQL database it wouldn't hurt to run a repair on it.
  • 1) Log out of SAM.
  • 2) from a DOS prompt enter:
net stop mysql
c:/mysql/bin/myisamchk -r -f c:/mysql/data/samdb/*.myi
net start mysql
  • 3) Restart SAM
  • If your mysql is not installed on c: then adjust accordingly.

~SQL 2013

SQL error=2013
SQL error string=Lost connection to MySQL server during query
SQL=SELECT songlist.*, historylist.listeners as listeners, historylist.requestID as requestID, historylist.date_played as starttime FROM historylist, songlist WHERE (historylist.songID
songlist.ID) AND (songlist.songtype
'S') ORDER BY historylist.date_played DESC LIMIT 11
  • Go into tools maintainance and choose clear history. That will help your mysql database its currpt somewhere. You will most likely need to restart SAM and of course do a database repair keep an eye on your hard drive sometimes when stuff like this starts happening it usually means more stuff is to come.
